Friday’s preview brings four games into focus, with games from Italy, France and Germany, along with an Edinburgh derby from Scotland. Check out these games below, with a verdict on each.
In Serie A, Roma take on Torino, with the home side looking to extend their lead over Lazio and Inter in the race for Champions League places, while Torino look to consolidate their mid-table position.
After defeats to Shakhtar and Milan, Roma surprised many, with a 4-2 win at league leaders Napoli, despite going behind in the sixth minute. After a five game unbeaten run, Torino have lost their last two games, losing to Juventus and Verona, as their season begins to peter out.
Unusually the last two matches have been won by the away side, with previous meetings dominated by the side on home soil in recent years. Roma’s win over Napoli will certainly have renewed confidence and a home win looks good here, with a Goal Rushbet also worth some attention.
Verdict: Roma Win
In Ligue 1, Strasbourg continue their fight for survival, as they host second placed Monaco in a tough game for the hosts.
Strasbourg sit three points above the relegation zone and have failed to win in the last four matches, losing in the Coupe de France to lower league Chambly and in the league against Caen in the last two games played. Monaco have lost just once in the last seventeen games played and even though they may not challenge leaders PSG, a runner-up spot is looking stronger by the week.
The last three meetings have been won by Monaco, scoring eight goals without reply. Another tough night is expected for the hosts, with an Over 2.5 Total Goals bet looking good here too.
Verdict: Monaco Win
In the first Bundesliga match of the weekend, Mainz who currently sit in the relegation play-off position, take on Schalke, who sit second in the table.
Mainz have won twice since the Winter break and despite a of our successive losses, they are unbeaten in the last three games. Schalke’s three victories on the bounce, have given them the advantage in what is a very tight race for Champions League places, with the 2-0 away win at Leverkusen, a real marker of intent.
Schalke have won the last three meetings, scoring six and conceding no goals to Mainz in that time. Mainz are likely to be defensive, with a point currently very precious, so an Under 2.5 Total Goals bet could work here, although Schalke to win looks most likely in terms of a result.
Verdict: Schalke Win
In this Edinburgh derby from the Scottish Premiership, Hibernian and Hearts clash once again, with another tough battle between these bitter rivals.
Hibernian still harbour slim hopes of Europe, as they chase Rangers and Aberdeen in the table, with an unbeaten run of four games keeping them in the hunt. Hearts have hit a bit of a wall in terms of form, having failed to win in their last four matches, as the “Jambos” sit just inside the top half before the season split.
Until the Hearts cup victory back in January, they had failed to beat Hibernian in nine previous meetings. The home side look favourites once more, especially with current form. Five of the last six meetings would have seen the Under 2.5 Total Goals bet win and another looks likely here, with Hibernian taking the spoils of victory.
